The guide covers the levers that decide what a Passport Advantage relationship actually costs, with the buyer side play on each:

• Support escalators. Subscription and Support renewals creep year over year. We show where to cap the increase and when to challenge it.
• Metric drift. Since Passport Advantage version 11, with existing customers brought in on May 1 2023, virtual processor core products fall under sub capacity reporting and ILMT, and manual counting is no longer accepted. Entitlements bought on an old metric need to be reconciled to the new one.
• Trade up and competitive trade up. These programs can lower the cost of moving between products, but the credit terms are negotiable and often left on the table.
• International agreement pitfalls. Multi country deployments under an International Passport Advantage Agreement carry currency, entity and reporting traps that surface in an audit.
• Forward terms inside a settlement. The strongest moment to fix renewal terms is during an audit settlement, not after it. We fold the forward deal into the settlement letter.
